Brouwerij Huyghe was founded in Melle, Belgium in 1906 by Leon Huyghe, when he purchased the site of a former brewer that was founded in 1654. The brewery focused on pilsners until the late 1980s, when interest in more unique Belgian beers began to take off. The company pivoted with the introduction of Delirium, and began acquiring other beer brands in the 1990s. The company remains owned by the Huyghe family.
