What does DIAGEO Own?

Diageo PLC was created in 1997 from the merger of Guinness and Grand Metropolitan. Guinness was created in the year 1759 by Arthur Guinness in the city of Dublin, Ireland. Grand Metropolitan began as a hotel company in 1934, but gradually began incorporating beer, wine, and spirits into its portfolio in the 1970s, most notably Smirnoff.
