What does CALEDONIA INVESTMENTS Own?
Caledonia Investments is a private equity firm founded in 1928 and originally known as the Foreign Railways Investment Trust Ltd. In 1951, the Cayzer Family, members of the British aristocracy, purchased the fund and renamed it Caledonia Investments, and nine years later the firm was listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 2016, Caledonia purchased Liberation Group, which owns the Liberation Brewery as well as several pubs on the Isle of Jersey, for £118 million. The investment is now valued at £134.9 million, and makes up 4.7% of Caledonia’s portfolio. The Cayzer Family still owns 48.5% of the firm.
