Skol Lager, originally known as Graham’s Continental, was launched by Ind Coope Breweries in Alloa, Scotland in 1958. The recipe was based off of the locally popular Graham’s Golden Lager, which had been brewed by the company since 1927. The following year, it changed its name to Graham’s Skol to give it a more Scandinavian impression (Skol is the traditional toast in Swedish). Later, the beer’s name was simplified to just Skol.
