Wieze Beer was introduced by Brouwerij Van Roy in Wieze, Belgium in 1866. When that brewery shut down in 1997, the trademark was purchased by Brouwerij Haacht, though they did not end up brewing a beer under that name. In 2009, brewer Ronny De Wolf purchased the trademark and started Brouwerij Wieze. That company went out of business in 2013, and the trademark transferred again, this time to Wieze Beer Belgium nv. In 2017, that company granted the rights to Brouwerij De Brabandare.
