What does DE BRABANDERE BREWERY Own?
De Brabandere Brewery was founded in Bavikhove, Belgium in 1894 by Adolphe de Brabandere. In 1909 it was renamed Sint-Antonious Brewery by his son, Joseph de Brabandere, who took over the business. His wife ran the company when he died in 1929, and then passed it on to their children Paul, Albert, and Suzanne De Brabandere in 1950. They reverted the company to its original name of De Brabandere, but when their descendants Ignace and Vincent Brabandere took over in 1990, they renamed the company Bavik Brewery after their lead brand. In 2014, partly owing to the comapny’s expanding portfolio, the family business reverted once again to the De Brabandere name.
