Flying Bison Brewing Company was founded in 2000 in Buffalo, New York by Phil Internicola and Tim Herzog, with the investment of 25 minority partners. Rising costs attributed to financial difficulties for the company, and in 2010 Flying Bison was sold to fellow New York brewer F.X. Matt Brewing Company. As part of the terms of the deal, Matt agreed to continue production in Buffalo.
