What does FX MATT BREWING COMPANY Own?
FX Matt Brewing was founded in 1888 by Francis Xavier Matt in Utica, New York, originally as the West End Brewing Company. It became famous for its flagship beer, Utica Club, shortly after prohibition, and then later with Saranac Ale. In 2010 it purchased Flying Bison Brewery in Buffalo New York, followed by Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, Maryland. In 2021, FX Matt sold a 20% ownership stake to Brooklyn Brewery to help them fund expansions to their facilities.
