Deep Ellum Brewery was created in 2011 in Dallas, Texas by John Reardon. In 2016, Reardon attempted to sell 56% of Deep Ellum to growth capital group Storied Craft Breweries for $8 million. However, only 24.5% of the company was ever sold, and the deal fell apart. In 2018, the company was sold to CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective. In 2022, the collective was purchased by Monster Beverage Corporation for $330 million.
