Shed Beer was first created in 1965 in Stowe, Vermont by Ken Strong and Ted Ross as The Shed Restaurant and Brewery. Otter Creek Brewing, based out of Middlebury, Vermont, bought the rights to brew the beer. One year prior, Otter Creek had been purchased by Long Trail Brewing, and in 2022, the entire Long Trail Brewing company, including the Otter Creek and Shed brands, was purchased by Mass.
