Heineken was created in 1864 by Gerard Adriaan Heineken in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The brewery has expanded to become one of the biggest beer companies in the world, with over 20 brand families in its portfolio. In 2016, it signed an agreement with Asia Brewery to allow them to brew and distribute Heineken in the Philippines.
