Castanea Partners is a private equity firm founded in 2001 by Rob Smith, Brian Knez, and Paul Gibbons. Smith and Knez had previously been co-CEOs of Neiman Marcus before starting their firm, which focuses on consumer products. In 2017, they purchased a majority stake in The Bruery, which earned them three seats on the board of directors.
