WarPigs is a beer brand that was created in 2015 in Copenhagen, Denmark as a collaboration between Mikkeller Brewing and Indiana’s Three Floyds Brewing. The brand started with a brewpub in Denmark, and in 2017 began brewing in the United States as well.
However, in 2021 the transnational collaboration fell apart when Mikkeller started to face scrutiny for its alleged working culture of harassment, misogyny, and bulling. As the allegations came to light, Three Floyds distanced itself from the relationship, and soon withdrew its ownership stake and resigned from the board. As a result, WarPigs is now fully owned by Mikkeller. However, in early 2024, it was announced that Carlsberg Group had taken a 20% stake in the Mikkeller, which included WarPigs as part of the deal.
